Finding Routes
From Cyclopath
[edit] Using tags with the route finder
When you open the route finder, you will see a list of tags at the bottom. Use this list to adjust your route preferences.
To include a tag in your preferences, check the 'Use' column for that tag. You must then select one of
Avoid,
Penalty or
Bonus for this tag to be used.
-
If you mark a tag as 'Avoid', all blocks that have that tag will be avoided when calculating your route.
-
If you mark a tag as 'Penalty', all blocks with that tag are given a bikeability penalty. This means that blocks with this tag will be preferred less than usual.
The effect of penalties and bonuses are affected by the slider above the tag list. The closer the slider is to 'Minimize Distance', the less the penalties and bonuses will matter, and the closer the slider is to 'Favor Bikeability', the more they will matter.
To help you find the tags you want, the tag list can be sorted by any of its attributes. For example, you can click on the 'Blocks' header to sort the list by numbers of blocks each tag is applied to (a measure of frequency).
If you check 'Save these settings for future searches', your preferences will be remembered. If you are not logged in, these preferences will persist as longs as you don't exit Cyclopath. If you are logged in, these preferences will persist even if you exit Cyclopath.
Use the 'Restore Defaults' button to return the preferences to the initial settings.
