Watch Regions

Watch regions let you define custom regions of the map where you would like to be notified of any changes (revisions) made in the revisions. You can also see previous changes made to the region, under the Recent Changes tab (see above). Watch regions are private to you.

[edit] Creating watch regions

Select the My Watch Regions tab, and click on the New Watch Region button, at the bottom, and a new watch region will be created and be selected. Edit the name as desired. A square outline should appear on the map. Drag the four corners to create the shape and size desired for the watch region; you can also add and remove vertices to make a region of irregular shape. Click Save Changes to save the region.

[edit] E-mail notification

Cyclopath can notify you by e-mail of changes in your watch regions immediately, once daily, or never. If you choose the immediately option, Cyclopath will send you an e-mail immediately when someone makes a change in one of your watch regions. If you choose the daily option, Cyclopath will send you an e-mail once daily at 5pm listing all the changes in your watch regions over the past 24 hours, unless there were no changes, in which case no e-mail will be sent.

To change this preference:

  1. Click on My Watch Regions
  2. Select the appropriate item from the menu labeled E-mail notification of changes at lower left.

You can also turn notifications for an individual watch region on or off separately. To change this preference:

  1. Click on My Watch Regions
  2. Click on the name of the watch region you wish to change.
  3. Tick or untick the checkbox labeled Notify by e-mail.

Note that if you select "never" as your overall notification preference, you will not receive any notifications even if some individual watch regions have the Notify by e-mail box ticked.
